Spoiled Teenager versus Little Orphan Girl

Katy is really influenced by what she watches on Television. She pretends to be the person she is watching. I noticed her acting like a teenager and talking about her boy friend and she would talk her on fake cell phone as if she were carrying on a real conversation. A lot of people think Hanna Montana is a great role model for young girls. I agree she is far better than Britney Spears and many others. However I still have a low opinion of the show. In my opinion, the character of Hannah is a spoiled brat. Kind of reminds me of Suite life's London Tipton. These shows teach our already spoiled children that they can con their parents, make out with guys, kiss up to people, lie and get anything they want. Hanna’s best friend freaks out with the slightest unfashionable thing. What kind of message does that send to young girls? I decided to block the channels that have these types of shows on them. I find it odd that the channel that most of these shows are on is the Disney channel. Katy and I have been watching shows from the American girl series and shows that come on the Hallmark channel. We watched a show that had an orphan train and it was about a young woman that adopted one of the girls that no one else would take. Katy came into the living room with one of her old fashioned dress up dresses and a little note safety pinned to the dress. She had a little bag with some books in it. She was mimicking what she saw on the TV show! I don’t necessarily want her to act like an orphan but at least she’s not acting like a spoiled teenager and saying Hey Girl, Love your outfit.
